WAYNE – Although the Wayne State College men’s basketball team had their season come to a close Wednesday evening, one member of the team will be represented on the 2018 NSIC All-Conference Team.
The announcement came Thursday morning by the league office in Burnsville, Minnesota.
Junior Kendall Jacks has been voted on by league coaches to receive Honorable Mention All-NSIC honors.
The 6-4 guard from Bettendorf, Iowa, who was a Second Team All-NSIC selection last season, led the Wildcats in scoring, rebounding and assists this season averaging 13.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. He scored double figures in 25 of 31 games this season and had eight games of 20 or more points, highlighted by a season-best 28 points at Concordia-St. Paul on December 1. Jacks shot 50.5 percent from the field (167-331) and 79.4 percent at the free throw line (77-97).
In 22 NSIC games this season, Jacks accounted for 13.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game while shooting 49.4 percent from the field (118-239) and 78.7 percent (59-75) at the free throw line. He scored double figures in 18 of 22 league games this season and had six games with 20 or more points.
Jacks has started all but two games in his three years in a Wildcat uniform and currently ranks 20th in career scoring with 1,128 points.
Wayne State ended the 2017-18 season with a record 14-17 overall and was seventh in the NSIC South Division with a 9-13 league mark.
