HOWELLS – A handful of northeast Nebraska wrestling teams took part in the Howells-Dodge Invite Saturday.

From Howells-Dodge Consolidated Public Schools, 15 teams were represented during the invitational.

The host, Howells-Dodge racked up 100 points to win their invite, Oakland-Craig placed runner-up with 85 points, Summerland (Clearwater/Orchard/Ewing) finished third with 72 points, Guardian Angels Central Catholic took fourth with 71 points and Wisner-Pilger rounded out the top five teams with 65 points.

Other team results came from Clarkson/Leigh (sixth – 56.5), Hartington Cedar Catholic (T-seventh – 55), Wakefield (T-eighth – 53), Madison (T-eighth – 53), Ponca (10th – 42), Stanton (11th – 35), Elgin Public/Pope John (T-12th – 24), Lutheran High Northeast (T-12th – 24), St. Mary’s (14th – 10) and Scribner-Snyder had two wrestlers in action.

 

Wakefield: Jeremiah Chase (145) won his weight class. Mitchell Fischer (170) and Giovani Salcedo (220) both took third, Rylan Weaver (285) finished fourth and Kolton Fischer (132) placed sixth.

HCC: Keegan Carl (106) and Conner Hochstein (160) both placed runner-up while Cole Steffensen (132) took third. Nash Albers (145) and Ethan Baumert (160) both came in fifth as Tavious Pinkelman (120) and Korth Kale (152) both finished sixth.

Ponca: Aiden Cook (170) and Miguel Balvantin (195) both finished runner-up while Hunter Bennett (182) took third. Grant Sprakel (106) also placed fourth.

Wisner-Pilger: Devon Schultz (138) and Ben McDuffee (220) both won their weight class while Braxton Siebrandt (120) finished runner-up. Tycin Lampman (106) placed fifth and Samuel Good (170) took sixth.
