High School, College Football Broadcast Schedule Released

WAYNE – Starting in late August and lasting through mid-November, 28 area high school and Wayne State College football games will be aired on KTCH/KCTY.

On the schedule will be all nine Wayne High games, all 11 Wayne State College games along with eight area high school football matchups featuring Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, Wakefield, Randolph, Plainview, Madison, Lutheran High Northeast, Howells-Dodge and Wisner-Pilger.

Along with sports director and Voice of the Wildcats Aaron Scheffler, other members of the broadcast team will feature Brady Bristol, Justin Raulston, Nate Burrows and Joey Lenihan. All high school games will start their pregame show 15 minutes prior to kickoff while Wayne State College games will air 30 minutes prior to kickoff.

The first high school games will be on Friday, August 30 at the start of the NSAA season. On Big Red Country ‘KTCH’ 104.9 and online at waynedailynews.com will be an eight-man showdown when Laurel-Concord-Coleridge visits Randolph at 7 p.m. Last season, Randolph topped the Bears in Laurel 40-16 to finish their season at 7-3 falling to Falls City Sacred Heart (60-22) in the Class D2 playoffs. LCC went 4-5 and dropped a 40-34 overtime game against Fullerton in the Class D1 playoffs.

Then, on The City ‘KCTY’ 98.9/1590 and online at waynedailynews.com Wayne High will visit the Wahoo Warriors in a C1 contest also at 7 p.m. In the season opener last year, Wahoo held off Wayne 16-0 in Wayne which was the start to a 10-2 season falling in the semifinals to the eventual champions of Aurora (35-10). The Blue Devils went 3-6 last year.

The opening Wayne State College game will be on the road at Winona State University at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 7. WSC dropped a high scoring home opener last year with the Warriors winning 41-28 on a Thursday night. The ‘Cats ended their season at 3-8 while Winona State went 8-3 winning six of their final seven games.
