Girls State Golf Final Results, Battle Creek And Norfolk Catholic Tie For Sixth

NORTH PLATTE – Class C girls golf teams closed out their second and final day of state competition earlier this week Tuesday morning.

From Lake Maloney Golf Course in North Platte, Class C girls state golfers were in action while Class A was held at the Norfolk Country Club and Class B in Columbus from the Elks Country Club.

Lincoln Lutheran edged Lincoln Christian 765-771 to win the Class C team title. Area teams of Battle Creek and Norfolk Catholic tied for sixth (782), West Point-Beemer placed eighth with a 793 and Hartington Cedar Catholic in 11th with a two-day team score of 820.

Lynzi Becker of Cozad shot the 18-hole low score with a 156 (80/76) while day one leader Abigail Brodersen of Boone Central/Newman Grove placed runner-up with a 160 (78/82).

Top area golfers were Brook Diekemper (West Point-Beemer) finished fifth with a 170 (91/79); Sydney Erickson (Pierce) placed sixth with a 172 (84/88); Anna Kassmeier (Norfolk Catholic) finished 12th with a 177 (87/90) and Maizie Christensen (Hartington Cedar Catholic) tied for 38th with a 202 (105/97).

Thurston-Cuming golfers, Emma Beutler T-61st with a 217 (111/106) and Jazzmin Nolze finished 80th with a 228 (125/103).

The Class B team champion went to Scottsbluff with a 677 as Gering took runner-up with a 691. Danica Badura of Aurora shot a one-over 145 total gross (72/73).

Class A saw Lincoln Southwest win the team title over North Platte (665-680). Kaitlyn Hanna of Omaha Westside shot an eight-over 152 gross (72/80).
