Friday Night Results, Area Teams Advancing In Football Playoffs

LINCOLN – A few teams from northeast Nebraska will continue to play into the month of November in search of a state championship in football.

Friday results showcased the opening round of 11-man games and second round (round of 16) eight-man playoffs.


Class C1 area results: 2nd round games on Friday, November 5

#3 Boone Central (9-1) eliminated Wayne, 42-35 and will next visit #11 Columbus Lakeview at 7 p.m. WHS ended their season at 5-5.

#9 Pierce (8-2) won at #8 Broken Bow, 27-14 and will next host #1 Ashland-Greenwood at 7 p.m.

#12 Battle Creek (7-3) won at #5 Chadron, 28-20 and will next host #4 Columbus Scotus at TBA


Class C2 area results

#1 Norfolk Catholic (9-1) defeated #16 Crofton, 35-6 and will next visit Hartington Cedar Catholic at 7 p.m.

#9 Hartington Cedar Catholic (8-2) won at #8 North Platte St. Patrick’s, 20-7 and will next host Norfolk Catholic

*Norfolk Catholic won 27-20 to conclude the regular season in Norfolk.


Class D1 area results

#5 Howells-Dodge defeated #12 Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, 54-20 and will next visit #4 Dundy County-Stratton at 4 p.m. MT in Benkelman. LCC ends their season at 7-3.

#8 Anselma-Merna defeated #9 Stanton, 26-20 and will next visit #1 Burwell at 6 p.m. Stanton ends their season at 8-2.


Class D2 area results:

#14 Bruning Davenport-Shickley defeated #3 Pender, 36-28 and will next visit #11 Ansley-Litchfield at 5:30 p.m. Pender ends their season at 9-1.

#13 Elgin Public/Pope John won at #4 Bloomfield, 70-44 and will next visit #12 Johnson-Brock at 4 p.m. Bloomfield ends their season at 8-2.
