Four Teams Remain In Each Class D1, D2 Playoff Bracket

LINCOLN – The road to Memorial Stadium has been narrowed down to the final four eight-man football teams in their respective class.

Quarterfinal football games were held Tuesday evening for Class D1 and D2.

In Class D1, #4 Osceola-High Plains (9-2) handed #1 Howells-Dodge (10-1) their first loss of 28-14. The winner will next face #7 Cross County (7-4) who defeated #11 Tri County (7-4), 36-12.

The other half of the bracket saw #5 Burwell (9-2) also handed #1 Cambridge (10-1) their first loss of 71-48 and #7 Dundy County-Stratton (10-1) defeated #3 Arcadia-Loup City (9-2), 42-30.

In Class D2, a pair of area teams went to work Tuesday. #3 Falls City Sacred Heart (11-0) defeated #2 Bloomfield (10-1), 36-0 and #1 Humphrey St. Francis (11-0) defeated #5 Plainview (9-2) for the second time this season 64-20. Results from the other half of the bracket saw #8 Overton (8-3) hand #5 Central Valley (10-1) their first loss of 22-14 and #7 Pleasanton (9-2) ended the run of #11 Twin Loup (6-5), 34-24.

Eight-man semifinal games will be played next Monday, November 18. Both championship games will be played on Monday, November 25 from Memorial Stadium with Class D1 being played at 10:15 a.m. and Class D2 at 2:45 p.m.
