WAYNE – A handful of representatives from the Wayne High softball team were tabbed All-Mid State Conference and honorable mention.
In late October, the softball Mid State Conference voting concluded as five Blue Devils were listed.
Kendall Dorey led the charge for Wayne High followed by teammates Hope O’Reilly, Brooklyn Kruse and Taytum Sweetland as All-Conference while Taytem Ellis earned honorable mention.
Brooklyn Kruse, O’Reilly and Dorey were also tabbed honorable mention in Class B for the 2021 Lincoln Journal Star.
The Blue Devil softball team suffered back-to-back losses in the B-5 District Final falling to Grand Island Northwest to conclude the season at 18-9. WHS was crowned Mid State Conference champions with a 7-6 win over the #1 seed GACC.
Guardian Angels Central Catholic was the lone Mid State Conference team to advance to state and finished 2-2 in the Class C Tournament and made it to the final day. The Bluejays ended their season at 24-9.
