Eighth Tie-Breaker Allows Wayne High To Take Wrestling Dual Over Norfolk Catholic

WAYNE – Wayne High hosted their first of five competitions at home Thursday night.

From the Wayne Jr/Sr high school gymnasium, WHS hosted Norfolk Catholic for a dual.

It came down to a tie of 36-36 as Wayne High used criteria ‘H’ for the eight tie-breaker and won the match 37-36 based on WHS scoring the first points of the match.

Both teams split the eight contested matches, had two forfeits each and two double forfeits.


Results: Wayne won 170/285 while Norfolk Catholic won 220/113 as both teams had double forfeits in 106/120

Wayne High will join Fort Calhoun, Mount Michael Benedictine, Randolph and Tekamah-Herman for the West Point-Beemer Invite on Saturday, December 8 at 9 a.m.
