Dirt Devil Softball Tuesday Results

WAYNE/ELK POINT, SD/TEKAMAH/WEST POINT – With a trio of younger Dirt Devil softball teams taking to the road in late June for doubleheader action, the Dirt Devil 16/18s welcomed in two different opponents.

From the Summer Sports Complex, the Dirt Devil 16/18s began with YGSA Fury Fire (Yankton, SD) followed by the Norfolk Golden Girls on Tuesday.

In the 13-5 loss against YGSA Fury Fire, Caitlyn Mostek singled twice while Liberty Titiml singled, drove in a run and scored twice. Kierah Haase singled and scored; Delaney Kruse and Hailey Schroeder both singled and drove in a run; Sammi Gubbels singled as Jersi Jensen and Taytem Ellis both scored.

Gubbels (109) suffered the loss in four innings allowing 13 runs (five earned) off 15 hits while striking out three batters and walking one.

During the 5-3 loss with the Norfolk Golden Girls, Titiml singled, doubled, drove in a run and scored; Schroeder doubled and drove in two runs while Logan Miller doubled. Ellis singled and scored; Kierah Haase singled as Kylen Robbins scored.

Gubbels (97) suffered the loss in four innings allowing five earned runs off eight hits while striking out four batters and walking two.

The Dirt Devil 16/18s are now 15-13 on the season and will next visit Fremont on Thursday, June 30 at 6:30/8 p.m.

 

The Dirt Devil 14s picked up a road doubleheader in Elk Point, South Dakota.

Game one favored the host Elk Point, 10-5 while the Dirt Devil 14s won 9-6 in the night cap to improve to 8-16 on the season.

Justice Olson tripled, drove in two runs and scored while Reagan McGuire tripled and scored.

Lily Gubbels singled twice and scored; Serenity Heil singled and scored; Kayleigh Graybeal singled twice; Kassidee Holz and Jordyn Gamble both accounted for a RBI as Alexis Legler scored.

McGuire (95) suffered the loss in three innings allowing five earned runs while striking out four batters and walking 10. Gamble (50) worked two-thirds allowing five runs while striking out two batters and walking five.

During the victory, Olson and Graybeal both singled, drove in a run and scored. Gracelynn Daniels singled and drove in a run; Kaylei McIntosh singled and scored; Heil accounted for a RBI and two runs scored; Legler and Holz each added a RBI and run scored; Makenna Mattison drove in a run as single runs came from Gamble and Gubbels.

Gamble (89) picked up the complete game victory in three and two-thirds allowing six runs (five earned) off four hits while striking out three batters and walking eight.

The Dirt Devil 12s (16-19-1) traveled to Tekamah and won 10-4 against Tekamah-Herman Gold and then suffered an 11-3 loss to Tekamah-Herman Purple.

In the victory over T-H Gold, Alivia Kesting singled, doubled, drove in a run and scored while Kinnley McGuire singled, drove in two runs and scored twice.

Lillian Johnson and Olivia Brandow both singled, drove in a run and scored; Kamden Dobbins singled and scored; Elizabeth Hix and Sidney Nelson both accounted for a RBI and run scored; Anna Dutcher added a RBI as single runs came from Bryn Tiedtke and Lainey Meyer.

Dobbins (84) picked up the complete game no-hitter victory in three innings allowing four earned runs while striking out four batters and walking eight.

During the loss against T-H Purple, Johnson singled and drove in two runs as McGuire scored twice. Hix also scored.

McGuire (86) suffered the loss in three innings allowing 11 earned runs off four hits while striking out three batters and walking seven.

The Dirt Devil 9s (5-17-1) played a doubleheader at West Point Yellow on Tuesday. West Point Yellow won game one, 8-7 and game two, 5-4.

In the first one-run loss, Zoe Myer singled twice, drove in a run and scored; Lillyah Sievers doubled, drove in a run and scored while Kiley Dutcher doubled and scored.

Makenna Williamson singled, drove in two runs and scored; Harper Hanson singled and scored as Lucille Ocampo scored twice.

Two pitchers combined for the loss being Williamson (109) in three and a third innings allowing eight runs off one hit while striking out seven batters and walking 13 as Hanson (10) worked a third of an inning walking one batter.

During the second one-run loss, Hanson singled, drove in two runs and scored. Dutcher scored twice as Izzy Ruwe added a run.

Hanson (102) suffered the loss in three innings allowing five runs off one hit while striking out six batters and walking 10.
