Dirt Devil 14s Defeat Emerson, Dirt Devil 10s Split At Nebraska Quakes

WAYNE/HADAR – A pair of Dirt Devil softball programs were in action Thursday evening.

From the Summer Sports Complex, the Dirt Devil 14s welcomed in Emerson for a single game while the Dirt Devil 10s played two games in Hadar.

The Dirt Devil 14s (7-15) picked up a 15-3 home victory over Emerson.

In the win, Lily Gubbels tripled, drove in three runs and scored twice while Jordyn Gamble singled, drove in a run and scored twice.

Alexis Legler and Kassidee Holz both added a RBI and two runs scored; Reagan McGuire and Kayleigh Graybeal both accounted for a RBI and run scored; Kaylei McIntosh and Justice Olson both scored twice; Gracelynn Daniels and Makenna Mattison both drove in a run as Serenity Heil scored.

Olson and Gamble combined for the victory allowing three runs off one hit while striking out seven batters and walking five.

The Dirt Devil 10s (19-15) split road games at Nebraska Quakes – Baber 10U by winning the opening contest 11-4 but falling 14-10 in game two.

From the win, Nevaeh Hanson recorded a solo homerun while Jessa McMenamin singled, doubled, drove in a run and scored.

Kennedy Rubendall accounted for a RBI; Lorelai Sorenson scored twice as single runs came from Hadley Woehler, Reagan McManigal, Madison Olson, Chloe Kai, Alyssa Bargholz, Avery Gubbels and Sadi Fredrickson.

Two pitchers combined for the victory being Sorenson (53) in two innings allowing four runs (three earned) off one hit while striking out six batters and walking five as McMenamin (19) worked a scoreless inning not allowing a hit while striking out one batter and walking two.

In the loss, McManigal accounted for a RBI and run scored while Woehler, Sorenson and Olson all scored twice. Other single runs came from McMenamin, Hadley Dunklau and Kai.

Two pitchers combined for the loss being Dunklau (59) in one inning allowing nine runs (eight earned) off two hits while striking out one batter and walking eight. McMenamin (41) worked an inning and a third allowing five runs (two earned) while striking out and walking four batters each.

The Dirt Devil 12s, 14s and 16/18s will be off this weekend while the Dirt Devil 9s (3-13-1) and 10s will compete in the Logan Valley League softball tournament beginning on Friday, June 24.

10U League Tourney Schedule.

From the Two Rivers State Bank Complex in Arlington, #18 Dirt Devil 10s will open with #15 FC Pioneers – Billesbach at 7 p.m. (Field 2) while #19 Dirt Devil 9s will face #14 Bennington Badgers at 7 p.m. (Bell Creek Field) both on Friday.

A win for 10s would match them up against #2 Tekamah-Herman Gold at 8 a.m. on Saturday while a loss would drop them to an elimination game at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. A win for the 9s would match them up against #3 Mead at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday while a loss would drop them to an elimination game at 2 p.m. also on Saturday.
