Dirt Devil 10s Split Road Games With Oakland, Dirt Devil Invite Schedule Attached

WAYNE – After having games canceled with Logan View earlier this week, the Dirt Devil 10s began a four-day stretch of games with a road doubleheader ahead of the Dirt Devil Invite this weekend.

The Dirt Devil 10s visited Oakland Thursday evening and suffered a 7-4 loss in game one before winning the second contest, 8-5. The Dirt Devil 10s are now 2-2 on the season.

In the opening game, the Oakland 10s scored a run in the first before both teams traded 3-1 innings in the second and third. Up 5-4, Oakland added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth to win 7-4.

Elizabeth Hix doubled, drove in a run and scored while Reagan Heithold added a single and run scored. Hadley Woehler also singled, Lainey Meyer accounted for a RBI as single runs came from Reagan McManigal and Olivia Brandow.

Heithold (98 pitches) suffered the loss in three and a third innings allowing seven runs (two earned) off one hit while striking out eight batters and walking seven.

During the night cap, the Dirt Devils outscored Oakland, 5-3 in the first before adding three more runs in the second to lead 8-3. Oakland could only bring in two runs in the top of the fourth as the Dirt Devils held on for the 8-5 victory.

Lorelai Sorenson doubled and scored twice while Hix accounted for a RBI and run scored. Kamden Dobbins scored twice, Lilly Redden added a RBI while single runs came from Jessa McMenamin, Hadley Dunklau and Heithold.

Dobbins (75 pitches) secured the win in four innings allowing five runs (one earned) off one hit while striking out nine batters and walking two.
