Dirt Devil 10s Fall At West Point

WEST POINT – The Dirt Devil 10 & Under softball team began the first of back-to-back nights on the road after having their league tournament shortened.

Wayne visited West Point Monday night.

West Point jumped out early with a five-run first before Wayne answered with five of their own runs in the top of second. West Point regained the regained the lead with five runs in the home half of the second as the Dirt Devil did outscore West Point in the third, 5-1, but it was a walk-off win for West Point by the final of 11-10. The Dirt Devil 10s are now 12-15.

Caylie Hopkins singled and drove in two runs as Lily Gubbels singled for Wayne. Justice Olson also accounted for a RBI.

Reagan McGuire and Kinnley McGuire combined for the loss. Reagan allowed 10 runs (nine earned) off one hits while striking out three batters and walking 13 as Kinnley allowed a run off one hit while walking one batter.

The Dirt Devil 10s will next visit Oakland tonight at 5/6:30 p.m.
