Dirt Devil 10s End Season With Saturday Split At State

HASTINGS – Dirt Devil 10 & Under softball closed out their Class C State Tournament run over the weekend.

From the Nebraska USA Softball Complex in Hastings, the Dirt Devil 10s played a total of three games from last Friday through Saturday.

10U State Tournament.

On Friday, the Dirt Devil 10s suffered a 6-0 loss in the opening round to Tractorhouse NT-Rowland.

Moving into Saturday, the Dirt Devils won 10-1 over Adrenaline 10U before falling 6-5 to Pender. The Dirt Devil 10s end their season at 24-19.

During the victory over Adrenaline, Jessa McMenamin singled, doubled twice, drove in two runs and scored three times while Chloe Kai singled, tripled, drove in two runs and scored twice.

Hadley Woehler singled, drove in a run and scored twice; Nevaeh Hanson singled twice and scored twice; Lorelai Sorenson and Avery Gubbels both singled and drove in a run as Alyssa Bargholz scored.

McMenamin (73) picked up the complete game no-hitter victory in four innings allowing one run while striking out six batters and walking four.

In the one-run loss to Pender, McMenamin singled and scored twice while Madison Olson doubled. Gubbels accounted for a RBI as Hadley Dunklau, Woehler and Sorenson all scored.

McMenamin (87) suffered the complete game loss in four innings allowing six runs (two earned) off one hit while striking out 11 batters and walking six.

The Dirt Devil 14s as well as 16/18s will be in action this week also leading up to their state tournament games.
