Dirt Devil 10 Results From Lakeview Tourney

COLUMBUS – The Dirt Devil 10 & Under softball team played at least one game over a three day tourney this past weekend to open their season.

Hosted by Columbus Lakeview, Wayne competed in the Lakeview Tourney.

Friday’s lone contest saw the Columbus Bullets-White defeat the 10s (13-3) before the Dirt Devils split their Saturday games during a 9-5 win over Lakeview and 13-6 defeat to Central City. In tourney action Sunday, the Dirt Devils were eliminated by Fire And Ice (11-0).

 

In the Friday loss, Lily Gubbels accounted for a RBI and run scored as Courtney Roeber and Reagan McGuire also both scored. Reagan McGuire suffered the loss in an inning and two-thirds allowing 13 runs (10 earned) off two hits while striking out one batter and walking 15.

 

From the win over Lakeview, Justice Olson doubled and drove in two runs while Lily Gubbels singled twice and drove in two runs. Reagan McGuire singled twice; Nyla Bolles singled as Courtney Roeber accounted for a RBI.

Kinley McGuire picked up the win in three innings allowing four earned runs off three hits while striking out five batters and walking four. Reagan McGuire worked an inning allowing an unearned run while striking out one batter and walking two.

 

During the Saturday loss, Olson recorded a single, RBI and run scored for Wayne as Makenna Mattison accounted for a RBI. Reagan McGuire, Lilian Johnson, Nyla Bolles, Anna Dutcher and Lily Gubbels all scored.

Reagan McGuire suffered the loss in an inning and two-thirds allowing nine runs (seven earned) off one hit while striking out four batters and walking six. Kinley McGuire worked an inning and two-thirds allowing four unearned runs while striking out four batters and walking three.

 

Closing out tourney play against Fire And Ice, Reagan McGuire and Mattison both singled.

Kinley McGuire suffered the loss in an inning allowing four runs (three earned) off one hit while walking three batters. Reagan McGuire worked two and a third innings allowing seven runs (four earned) off three hits while striking out six batters and walking four.

The Dirt Devil 10s are scheduled to host Pender at 6/7:30 p.m. and the 12s entertain West Point #1 this evening at 6:15/7:45 p.m. from the Summer Sports Complex pending field conditions. The Dirt Devil 14s are also on the schedule to visit Ponca at 6/7:30 p.m.
