Day Two Girls State Golf Results For Area Individuals

GERING/COLUMBUS –Day two of the NSAA Girls State Golf Championships closed out Tuesday.

Class A golfers competed from the Norfolk Country Club; Class B from Monument Shadows Golf Course in Gering while Class C took part at the Elk’s Country Club in Columbus.

Wayne High’s senior Natalie Bentjen improved her scoring by 16 shots from a day one 134 to a 118. She placed 65th overall in Gering during the Class B State Championships.

Sophomore Anna Kelley finished with a par on the playoff hole to edge senior Madilyne Schlaepfer of Gering. Both shot a 156. Scottsbluff won the team race with a 686 followed by Omaha Duchesne Academy with a 737.

Senior Abigail Brodersen of Boone Central edged junior Lynzi Becker of Cozad by two strokes 155-157 in the Class C Girls State Golf Championships. Broken Bow won the team title with a 732 while Lincoln Christian came in runner-up with a 778. Area team results showcased West Point-Beemer in third (785), Battle Creek in 10th (822) and Laurel-Concord-Coleridge finished 12th (830).

 

Class C area golfers:

LCC: Sarah Karnes (T-24th – 96/97); Jadyn Kinkaid (T-32nd – 10398); Sidney Groene (T-49th – 104/106); Hope Swanson (T-72nd – 112/114) and Delaney Hall (77th – 115/119).

West Point-Beemer golfers: Brook Diekemper (T-7th – 85/82); Kailey Johnson (T-15th – 91/92); Allie Boell (T-55th – 112/103); Shelbie Woerman (T-60th – 108/112) and Almarosa Urquidez (83rd – 121/122).

Battle Creek golfers: Megan Lutt (17th – 93/91); Emma Wilkinson (34th – 102/100); Joslyn Hrabanek (T-58th – 116/101); Raina Lade (T-65th – 106/116) and Molly Heimes (75th – 114/115).

Other area girls golf results came from Kaylin Gaughenbaugh of O’Neill (23rd – 96/94); Delayne Sudbeck of Hartington Cedar Catholic (T-29th – 97/100); Carly Thramer of Norfolk Catholic (T-44th – 105/101) and Alena Peters of Pierce (T-58th – 112/105).

 

North Platte won the Class A team race with a 660 followed by Lincoln Pius X with a 683 to finish runner-up. Sophomore Nicole Kolbas of Pius shot the individual low with a 71 and 69 to finish four-under.
