Day Three Results Of NSAA State Basketball Championships

LINCOLN – Three girls and three boys have solidified their championship games for this weekend during the 2022 NSAA Girls and Boys State Basketball Championships.

From the Bob Devaney Sports Center, Class D1 boys, Class C2 boys and Class D2 girls semifinal games were played while the Pinnacle Bank Arena offered Class C1 girls, Class B boys and Class A girls semifinal action.

Northeast Nebraska girls in semifinal action today:

D1 girls semifinal: #4 Shelton defeated #8 Hartington Cedar Catholic. 53-37. HCC will await the loser of either #2 Archbishop Bergan or #3 Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family (who play at 10:45 a.m. today). The D1 third place game is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Friday, March 11 at Lincoln East HS.

 

Class C2 girls: #1 Hastings St. Cecilia defeated #4 Crofton, 39-36 and will await the winner of the 3:15 p.m. #7 Oakland-Craig vs. #3 Bridgeport game.

 

Class C1 girls: #1 Lincoln Lutheran defeated #5 Gothenburg, 35-23 while #2 North Bend Central defeated Grand Island Central Catholic, 44-32.

Class D1 boys: #1 North Platte St. Patrick’s defeated #5 Burwell, 55-32 while #3 Loomis defeated #2 Dundy County-Stratton, 60-48.

Class B boys: #1 Omaha Skutt Catholic defeated #4 Platteview, 67-42 while #2 Omaha Roncalli Catholic defeated #6 Beatrice, 52-29.

Class C2 boys: #4 Grand Island Central Catholic defeated #8 Amherst, 58-47 while #3 Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family defeated #7 Norfolk Catholic, 42-40.

Class A girls: #5 Lincoln Southwest handed #1 Millard South their first loss of the season, 53-46 while #2 Fremont defeated #3 Lincoln High, 62-42.

Class D2 girls: #1 Falls City Sacred Heart defeated #5 Sterling, 48-38 while #2 Humphrey St. Francis defeated #3 St. Mary’s, 40-37.

 

Another round of semifinal games are scheduled for Thursday in Lincoln during the 2022 NSAA Girls and Boys State Basketball Championships.
