LINCOLN – Day one matches of the 2020 NSAA State Volleyball Championships are in the books as the second day will feature another set of opening round contests.
From the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Class A, B and C1 first round results are below:
Class A: #1 Elkhorn South swept #8 North Platte; #4 Papillion-LaVista swept #5 Lincoln Southwest; #2 Papillion-LaVista South swept #7 Bellevue West and #6 Millard West won in five sets over #3 Lincoln Pius X.
Class B: #1 Omaha Skutt swept #8 Grand Island Northwest; #5 Ashland-Greenwood won in four sets over #4 Waverly; #2 Norris swept #7 Aurora and #3 Elkhorn swept #6 York.
Class C1: #1 Wahoo swept #8 Adams Central; #5 Columbus Lakeview swept #4 Syracuse; #2 St. Paul swept #7 Broken Bow and #6 Lincoln Lutheran won in four sets over #3 Kearney Catholic.
The second series of opening round matches will be for Classes C2, D1 and D2 on Thursday, November 5.
Class D2 (9 a.m. start): #1 Diller-Odell vs. #8 Nebraska Christian at 9 a.m. on the north court followed by #4 Falls City Sacred Heart vs. #5 Humphrey St. Francis and #2 Chambers/Wheeler Central vs. #7 Wynot at 9 a.m. on the south court followed by #3 Maywood-Hays Center vs. #6 Mullen.
Class D1 (2 p.m. start): #1 Pleasanton vs. #8 Johnson-Brock at 2 p.m. on the north court followed by #4 Mead vs. #5 South Platte and #2 Bruning-Davenport/Shickley vs. #7 Hartington Cedar Catholic at 2 p.m. on the south court followed by #3 Archbishop Bergan vs. #6 Amherst.
Class C2 (7 p.m. start): #1 Lutheran High Northeast vs. #8 Centennial at 7 p.m. on the north court followed by #4 Clarkson/Leigh vs. #5 Howells-Dodge and #2 Overton vs. #7 GACC at 7 p.m. on the south court followed by #3 Norfolk Catholic vs. #6 Superior.
