Crofton-Bloomfield Uses Five Match Wins By Forfeit To Defeat Wakefield/Allen, Trojans Win Two Contested Matches

WAKEFIELD – It was parents night Thursday evening from Wakefield Community Schools as the Trojans wrestlers hosted their first competition of the season.

In the dual action, Wakefield/Allen entertained Crofton/Bloomfield.

The Trojans broke away from a 9-9 tie jumping out to a 27-9 lead. But, Crofton/Bloomfield won the final four matches scoring 24 points to give them a 33-27 win.

Charlie Lopez (132) of Wakefield/Allen won by decision (7-5) over William Poppe as Juan Lopez (160) of W/A won by fall over Hunter Hegge (1:57).

The lone contested match won by Crofton-Bloomfield came from Tyson Sauser (138) over Wyatt Verzani by decision (8-2).

Crofton-Bloomfield won five matches by forfeit (120/182/195/220/106), Wakefield-Allen took three matches (126/152/170) as both had three double forfeits (145/285/113).

The Wakefield/Allen wrestlers will be off until the Wisner-Pilger Tourney on January 5, 2019 starting at 10:15 a.m.

Other home events for the Trojans include hosting a triangular with Hartington Cedar Catholic and Winnebago on January 24 and the Wakefield Invite on February 2.

 

West Point-Beemer Dual:

The host, West Point-Beemer Cadets were all over Hartington Cedar Catholic scoring points in all but one match (78-6).

HCC’s lone win came from Eric Hoesing (182) over Jake Harriger by fall (3:19).
