WAYNE – As mother nature has postponed some spring sports in the area, a community-wide event has been moved from this past weekend to Sunday, April 22.
Hosted by the Wayne Community Activity Center, the Lift & Run Challenge is scheduled to take place this weekend. Weigh-in will be at 12:30 p.m., the bench press (lift) will start at 1 p.m. from the Anticity Center while the one-mile run will follow the lifting from Kern Track.
First, the participant will lift the assigned percent of their body weight as many reps as they can or up to 25 reps total. Continuing over the 25-rep max will count towards the overall bench press winner for male/female. For each completed rep, 10 seconds will be taken off the total time of the one-mile run.
Age division for women and percent of body weight to lift:
25 & Under: 80%
26 – 30: 70%
36 & Older: 50%
Age divisions for men and percent of body weight to lift:
30 & Under: 90%
51 & Older: 60%
Prizes will be awarded to the winner of each age division for both male/female; overall male/female bench press and for fastest one-mile time for male/female.
