Classes B, C Junior American Legion State Tournament Baseball Games Announced

PENDER/WAVERLY – Following a year off from the postseason due to the pandemic, American Legion state tournament baseball is back in the Juniors Division.

According to a release from Nebraska American Legion Baseball, both the Class B and C Junior state tournament brackets were posted.

Pender will host Class C while Waverly will host Class B as both will last from Saturday, July 17 – Wednesday, July 21 (July 22 as rain date).

From Dave Nitzschke Field in Pender, Class C Junior state tourney action will open at 10 a.m. with PWG (Area 5) vs. Lincoln Christian (Area 4) followed by Imperial (Area 7) vs. Syracuse (Area 3) at 1 p.m. Wisner-Pilger/Dodge-Howells (Area 1 runner-up) will face Yutan (Area 2) at 4 p.m. before the host Pender (Area 1 champion) will close with DCB (Area 6) at 7 p.m.

Loser’s bracket games are scheduled for 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. with winner’s bracket contests at 4/7 p.m. on Sunday, July 18.

The Class C Junior finals are scheduled for 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21 as July 22 is meant for any delays.

 

From Lawson Park in Waverly, the Class B Junior state tournament will begin on Saturday, July 17 at 9 a.m. with Pierce (Area 5) vs. Central City/Fullerton (Area 4); the host Waverly (Area 2 champion) vs. Arlington (Area 2 runner-up) at noon; Chadron (Area 7) vs. Blair (Area 3) at 3 p.m. and Beatrice (Area 1) vs. Broken Bow (Area 6) at 6 p.m.

Loser’s bracket games will be at 9 a.m. and noon with winner’s bracket games at 3/6 p.m. on Sunday, July 18.

The Class B Junior state tournament finals will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21 with July 22 being scheduled for any delays.
