Class D1 Showdown Favors Cedar Catholic Over LCC

HARTINGTON – A pair of northeast Nebraska high school volleyball teams were in action Tuesday night.

From Hartington Cedar Catholic high school, HCC entertained Laurel-Concord-Coleridge.

Cedar Catholic secured the four-set home win (25-15, 25-21, 21-25, 25-10). The Trojans are now 13-10 on the season while the Bears fell to 11-11.

Abby Hochstein recorded a double-double with 11 kills and 12 digs to go along with two service aces and four total blocks as Ann Steffen led the Trojans in kills with 14 and also had four total blocks. Kenlee Goeden tallied nine kills, Megan Heimes finished with 12 digs and two aces as Aiden Wortmann came away with 34 set assists and seven digs.

Hartington Cedar Catholic will next host Boone Central/Newman Grove while LCC will entertain Winnebago; both on Thursday, October 17.
