Class D1, C1 Round Of 16 Playoff Football Broadcasts On KTCH/KCTY Friday Night

LAUREL/ALBION – A pair of playoff football games will be carried on KTCH/KCTY Friday evening.

In Class D1, #12 Laurel-Concord-Coleridge will visit #5 Howells-Dodge at 7 p.m. in Howells while a Class C1 postseason outing will feature a rematch where #14 Wayne High will travel back to Albion and face #3 Boone Central at 7 p.m.

LCC began the round of 32 with a 30-24 home victory over Exeter-Milligan/Friend to now sit 7-2 while Howells-Dodge was all over Elmwood-Murdock, 56-32 to improve to 9-0.

Pregame coverage on Big Red Country ‘KTCH’ 104.9 and is set for 6:40 p.m. with Nate Burrows.

Other area eight-man playoff games will include #9 Stanton (8-1) at #8 Anselma-Merna (8-1) at 6 p.m. in Class D1 as well as #3 Pender (9-0) vs. #14 BDS (6-3) at 5:30 p.m. and #4 Bloomfield (8-1) vs. #13 Elgin Public/Pope John (6-3) at 7 p.m. in Class D2.

Moving into 11-man action, the Blue Devils will be making their third straight playoff appearance, fourth in the past five seasons (14th overall) while Boone Central is back in the playoff for the first time since 2011 and also 2017 when Boone Central/Newman Grove finished runner-up in Class C1.

The Blue Devils are 5-4 while the Cardinals open postseason play with an 8-1 record. Boone Central topped WHS 35-13 in Albion on October 8.

Other 11-man area playoff games include #9 Pierce (7-2) at #8 Broken Bow (7-2) at 6 p.m. and #12 Battle Creek (6-3) at #5 Chadron (9-0) at 2 p.m. MT in Class C1 as well as #1 Norfolk Catholic (8-1) vs. #16 Crofton (5-4) at 7 p.m. and #9 Hartington Cedar Catholic (7-2) at #8 North Platte St. Patrick’s (8-1) at 5:30 p.m. in Class C2.
