NORFOLK – Three northeast Nebraska high school volleyball programs sitting top 10 in Class C1 power rankings will open their postseason early next week.
According to a release from NSAA officials, the subdistrict pairings were officially released Thursday afternoon. The Class C1-7 Subdistrict Tourney will be played at Norfolk High School on Monday, October 28 and Tuesday, October 29.
Wayne High (26-4) was listed as the number one seed and will face #4 Pierce who is 9-19 at 6 p.m. Monday. The other half of the bracket will feature two teams who met earlier in the week during the Mid State Conference tourney being #2 Norfolk Catholic (21-5) and #3 Battle Creek (25-4) to follow the first match around 7:30 p.m. Battle Creek won in four sets over Norfolk Catholic Tuesday.
Wayne High is listed fifth in power points as of Wednesday afternoon, followed by Norfolk Catholic in seventh and Battle Creek ninth.
Wayne High is gearing up for the Mid State Conference Championship match tonight at 7:30 p.m. against Battle Creek. The Blue Devils and Bravettes also met last Thursday where Wayne won in four sets. Norfolk Catholic will be taking on Hartington Cedar Catholic tonight at 6 p.m. for the consolation round.
