ALBION – Following a rain delay Saturday night to the Class C Senior American Legion State Baseball Tournament, two teams were eliminated over the weekend.
From Leon Nelson Memorial Field in Albion, two northeast Nebraska teams remain in state contention entering Monday.
Saturday scores found Creighton defeating Gordon-Rushville 3-2; David City won over Alma 10-2; Pender edged Centura 5-4 and after the rain delay Wilber won against the host team, Albion 8-3.
Sunday results were Gordon-Rushville eliminated Alma 10-5 and Centura knocked out Albion 5-1. In the winner’s bracket David City downed Creighton 10-1 and Pender used a four-run seventh inning to comeback against Wilber and win 7-6.
Monday’s schedule will start off with a pair of elimination games between Centura and Creighton at 2 p.m. as well as Gordon-Rushville vs. Wilber at 5 p.m. The two undefeated teams remaining, David City and Pender will square off at 8 p.m. tonight.
