COLUMBUS – NSAA Boys State Golf Championship teams in Class C concluded their final day of competition on Wednesday.
From the Elks Country Club in Columbus, Hartington Cedar Catholic finished 10th with a two-day score of 748 while Tri County Northeast of Allen/Emerson-Hubbard placed 14th with a total score of 774.
The top Trojan golfer was Cazden Christensen with rounds of 86/88 (T-32nd).
The top Wolfpack golfer was Nathan Oswald who had a nine stroke improvement from Tuesday’s 91 to Wednesday’s 82 (T-30th).
Other individual results came from Battle Creek’s Luke Beckman who finished with rounds of 87/94 (T-44th); Ponca’s Grant Sprakel shot a 92/90 (46th); Hartington-Newcastle’s Reece Morten shot a 95/90 (T-50th) and Winnebago’s Eugene DeCora shot a 101/92 (T-66th).
Columbus Scotus entered day two with just a three shot lead on Doniphan-Trumbull. The Shamrocks finished the two-day championship as champions with a 640 followed by Doniphan-Trumbull who shot a 671.
Individually, it came down to the third playoff hole as Noah Carpenter from Palmyra was crowned Class C champion with rounds of 75 and 80 among the 96 golfers. Cael Peters from Mitchell finished second (80/75).
