NELIGH/PENDER – With the 3-0 Senior American Legion baseball area tournament teams getting a bye on Monday, a pair of northeast Nebraska elimination games were held.
The Class C Area 1 in Neligh and Class C Area 2 in Pender continued their respective tournaments.
In Neligh from the Harold Cole Memorial Field, #5 Palmer-Wolbach-Greeley picked up a 9-1 victory against #4 Crofton. Earlier in the tournament, PWG won 4-2 over Crofton on Saturday.
PWG will next face #1 Battle Creek (undefeated in tourney) at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26 for a trip to state. Battle Creek won 4-2 over PWG on Sunday. Battle Creek needs just one win while PWG will need to win twice to advance to state.
In Pender from Nitzschke Field, #2 Tekamah-Herman defeated #4 Hartington, 15-8 picking up their third straight elimination game victory.
Tekamah-Herman will next compete against #1 Pender (undefeated in tourney) on Tuesday, July 26 starting at 5:30 p.m. for a trip to state. Pender needs just one win while Tekamah-Herman would have to win two more games to advance to state.

The 2022 Class C Senior Legion State Tournament will be played in Wisner from Saturday, July 30 – Wednesday, August 3.
