Class B Boys State Golf Final Results, Walling Finishes Inside Top 20

SCOTTSBLUFF – Following a day one 378 at the Class B NSAA State Championships, the Wayne High boys golf team improved on their second day with a 373 on Wednesday.

From the Scotts Bluff Country Club in Scottsbluff, the second round of 18 concluded the high school spring sports season.

Wayne High finished 12th among the 12 teams with a two-day score of 751.

The top Blue Devil golfer was Tanner Walling with rounds of 82 and 80 to place 18th with a 162.

Other WHS boys golf results came from Drew Sharpe (90/86, T-44th); Bo Armstrong (88/94, T-53rd); Kyran Bartos (119/113, 68th) and Camron Weaselhead (118/117, 69th).

Pierce’s Abram Scholting finished with scores of 105 and 84 to place T-61st.

After holding just a three-shot lead, Norris improved on their second round and won with a 598 while Omaha Skutt Catholic followed in second with a 627.

The Class B individual champion came down to the first playoff hole as William Mullin of Omaha Skutt Catholic (68/75) defeated Jacob Goertz of Mount Michael Benedictine (70/73) among the 69 golfers with one receiving a DQ.
