NORFOLK – Several Class A programs were represented on a northeast Nebraska golf course.
Form the Norfolk Country Club, the 2022 NSAA Boys State Golf Championships came to a close on Wednesday.
Norfolk High individual golfers were led by Hayden Kuehner who finished with rounds of 78/82 (T-32nd), Tyson Wingate shot an 83/83 (T-46th) and Cale Wacker shot an 81/89 (T-57th).
Three teams were fighting for the top spot after day one and all within six shots after Tuesday’s competition.
Omaha Westside held a slight two shot lead after day one but Lincoln East made the pass on Wednesday.
Lincoln East was crowned team champion with a 596 two-day score just one shot ahead of Westside who finished runner-up (597) and Elkhorn South in a close third at 610.
The Class A individual champion was Thomas Bryson from Lincoln Southeast among the 75 golfers with rounds of 69/72 to finish with a 141. Thomas Gatlin from Lincoln East was three shots back to finish second with rounds of 68/76 for a 144.
