Class A Boys State Golf Day One Results

NORFOLK – A trio of Norfolk High golfers qualified for the 2022 NSAA Boys State Golf Class A Championships.

From the Norfolk Country Club, day one action began on Tuesday.

Norfolk is being led by Hayden Kuehner who shot a 78 (T-22nd) while Tyson Wingate shot an 83 (T-51st) and Cale Wacker shot an 81 (T-40th).

The Class A team leader after round one is Omaha Westside with a 292 followed by Lincoln East just two strokes back at 294.

Individually, Thomas Gatlin from Lincoln East shot the low score on Tuesday in Norfolk for Class A with a four-under PAR 68 among the 75 golfers. Thomas Bryson (Lincoln Southeast) was tied for second with Ryan Lingelbach (Elkhorn South) both a three-under PAR 69 and Porter Topp from Omaha Westside is fourth after a one-under PAR 71. Both Kolby Brown (Westside) and Andrew Whittaker (Elkhorn South) shot an even PAR 72 to sit tied for fifth.

Day two action will start at 9 a.m. in Norfolk for the second and final day of boys state golf.
