Cedar Catholic Drops Road Match In Four Sets

BATTLE CREEK – With the remainder of the regular season schedule featuring four home matches before conference, the Hartington Cedar Catholic volleyball team took to the road Tuesday.

From Battle Creek high school, Cedar Catholic visited the Bravettes.

Battle Creek took a two-set lead (27-25, 25-16) before HCC got on the board in the third (25-16) but it was the Bravettes winning in four (25-20) to improve to 19-2 as the Trojans are now 11-9 dropping their third straight.

Aiden Wortman posted a double-double with 39 set assists and 18 digs as did Abby Hochstein with 13 kills and 17 digs for Cedar Catholic. Kenlee Goeden added 10 kills followed by Brynn Wortmann tallied seven kills and 16 digs to go along with a team-high three service aces. Megan Heimes paced the team in digs with 20 and Tori Arens had 11 digs.

As a team, HCC recorded seven blocks.

Hartington Cedar Catholic will next host GACC Thursday.
