C-3 Girls Golf District Results, Area Golfers Perform Well

BATTLE CREEK – Northeast Nebraska high school girls golf programs took part in district competition where three teams and a handful of individuals qualified for state.

From Fair Play Golf Course in Norfolk, Battle Creek hosted the C-3 District.

State qualifying teams will be district champion West Point-Beemer (377), followed by Battle Creek in runner-up with a 400 and Laurel-Concord-Coleridge shot a 402 placing third.

Brook Diekemper of West Point-Beemer shot the 18-hole low of an 80 followed by Battle Creek’s Megan Lutt with an 87.

LCC golfers were Sarah Karnes (third) with a 92; Jadyn Kinkaid (ninth) with a 96; Sidney Groene (106); Hope Swanson (108) and Delaney Hall (117).

Individual golfers qualifying were Delayne Sudbeck of Hartington Cedar Catholic (fourth – 93); Alena Peters of Pierce (fifth – 96); Reghan Kerkman of West Holt (sixth – 96); Kaylin Gaughenbaugh of O’Neill (eighth- 96) and Carly Thramer of Norfolk Catholic (10th – 97).

Other team scores came from Norfolk Catholic (fourth – 419); Pierce (fifth – 423); O’Neill (sixth – 425); Cedar Catholic (seventh – 431); Thurston-Cuming (eighth – 441); West Holt (ninth – 468); Elkhorn Valley (10th – 507); Stanton (11th – 517); Crofton (12th – 543) and Ainsworth (13th – 548).

The Class C NSAA Girls State Golf Tournament will be held at the Elks Country Club in Columbus on Monday and Tuesday, October 12 – 13. Class A site will be the Norfolk Country Club and the Class B site in Gering at Monument Shadows Golf Course.
