LINCOLN – Jeff Kaminsky and the Wayne State College men’s basketball program will begin their third year together Thursday evening with a Division I opponent.
An exhibition contest and six non-conference games are scheduled for the month of November, four of which are at home.
The Wildcat men are coming off a 14-17 overall, 9-13 (T-10th Overall/seventh South) NSIC season where WSC saw a first round exit of the NSIC Tournament in February. The ‘Cats return their top three scorers where they are picked 12th overall and seventh in the South Division from the Preseason NSIC Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Poll released on October 18.
Just over 10 months later the Wayne State basketball team will visit #25 Nebraska. Tipoff from the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Last season, the Cornhusker went 22-11 while tying for fourth in the Big 10 (13-5) and advancing to the NIT. Nebraska returns three starters and their top four scorers.
Thursday night will also mark the third consecutive season that Wayne State College has taken on a Division I team. Last year, the ‘Cats visited Wright State (L58-73) in Ohio while also playing at Creighton (L46-93) in 2016.
