Bronco Tri-County League Bracket, Tourney Begins Sunday

WAYNE – The Bronco Tri-County League tournament bracket was released later in the day Wednesday.

Both the Wayne blue and white broncos have earned a first-round bye as tourney action gets underway this Sunday.

Oakland Craig Sluggers white took the #1 seed with an 11-0 record.

#3 Wayne blue won the tie breaker with Howells/Dodge (9-2) and will await the winner of either #14 West Point Patriots or #19 Wisner on Tuesday, July 9. Wayne won 19-7 at Wisner on June 17 and haven’t faced the Patriots this year.

#6 Wayne white was a part of a three-way tie at 8-3 with #5 Pender White and #7 Columbus Lakeview and will play the winner of #11 Arlington Maroon vs. #22 Homer also next Tuesday. Wayne won at Homer (16-1) on June 9 but haven’t faced Arlington.

If the two Wayne teams win their second round game, they’ll match up for a third-round showdown on Thursday, July 11.

For (5-6) Wakefield, they earned the #15 seed and will face #18 Logan View Gold on Sunday, July 7. A win for Wakefield would match them up with #2 Pender Red.

The team ended their season Monday by winning 10-0 against LV Gold and also played to a 3-2 road Red at Pender Red on June 20.

Semi-finals are slated for Saturday, July 13 in Stanton with the consolation and championship round back in Stanton on Monday, July 15.
