BRLD Hits Last-Second Shot to Stun Elmwood-Murdock In OT

LINCOLN — Lucas Vogt pulled up from 30-feet away from the basket and calmly sank a game-winning three-pointer in overtime to send BRLD to the semifinals of the Class C-2 State Tournament.  The Wolverines dispatched of Elmwood-Murdock 48-47 in a thriller at Lincoln Southeast High School on Thursday night.

The freshman led the Wolverines (25-2) with 17 points and had the assist on the basket that forced overtime.

“The kid has ice in his veins,” BRLD Head Coach Cory Meyer said.  “He just went up like it was just a normal shot, had all the confidence in the world that it was going in and it went in.”

BRLD started the game hot and led 17-6 after one quarter.  Elmwood-Murdock (19-5) pulled back into the game and tied it 28-28 entering the fourth quarter.

The Wolverines will face Ponca in the semifinals.
