Braves Win Home Wrestling Invite

BATTLE CREEK – An early January wrestling invite drew a crowd of teams Saturday during the Battle Creek Invite.

The host, Battle Creek pulled away from the field with 214 points to be crowned champions. Pierce followed in second with 184.5 points, Elkhorn Valley placed third with 146 points, Oakland-Craig fourth with 141 points and Howells-Dodge rounded out the top five teams with 107 points.

Other team results came from Creighton (sixth – 101), Stanton (seventh – 91), Randolph (eighth – 68), Crofton-Bloomfield (ninth – 64), Hartington Cedar Catholic (10th – 60.5), Ponca (11th – 58), Wakefield-Allen (12th – 50), Battle Creek JV (13th – 44), Scribner-Snyder (14th – 26), Osmond (15th – 18), Laurel-Concord-Coleridge (16th – 17), Niobrara/Verdigre (17th – 15) and Lutheran High Northeast (18th – two).
