Booster Club Tailgate To Begin At 6 PM Friday, Team Introductions Scheduled For 7 p.m.

WAYNE – Blue Devil fall sports athletes and their families are invited to an end of the week tailgate kickoff event.

With the first full week of school coming to a close Friday, the evening will also mark the Blue Devil booster club fall sports tailgate in the west parking lot of the Jr/Sr high school.

Parents are invited prior to the introductions of fall teams, according to booster club president Ryan Dahl.

“The food and sign-ups will be from 6 – 7 p.m.,” said Dahl. “But the actual event, as far as  the announcement of the teams, everything like that starts at 7 p.m.”

Tours of the new redesign and paint of the gym floor will also be available from 6-7 p.m. Signups for booster club memberships and individual sign-ups for game sponsorships will be available.

Along with recently hosting the Marty Summerfield Booster Club golf tournament in early August and the new gym floor, Dahl added what the group has been up to.

“We approved the athlete passes for the booster club basically to pay those for the athletes to get in the games,” Dahl added. “So, those will be available for all the athletes going into this school year again. Just recently approved four new backboards for the elementary gym.”

Friday night’s food will be provided by Pac N Save as the She Devils dance team will also be performing. Then at 7 p.m., each of the fall sports teams along with the cheerleaders and she devil dance team will introduce themselves with the head coaches talking about their team.

Anytime a Blue Devil team qualifies for state, the booster club will give the group money as the booster club also awards scholarships during the athletic banquet at the end of the year.

“Just really appreciate all the support that we get,” Dahl mentioned. “Yeah all the donations definitely go directly to our student-athletes.”

A Booster Club Meet & Greet will be held after the Friday, September 6 Wayne High home football game in the Wayne State College press box. WHS is scheduled to kickoff against O’Neill at 7 p.m.
