WAYNE – After snapping a three-game losing streak to begin the season, the Wayne High football team is back on the home turf against a top 10 opponent.
From Bob Cunningham Field on the campus of Wayne State College, the Blue Devils will welcome in their first district opponent on Friday, September 23.
Wayne High is 1-3 on the season following a 27-26 home victory over Raymond Central last Friday while #2 Pierce routed top 10 Omaha Roncalli Catholic, 57-35 on September 16. #6 Roncalli fell to #9 in the most recent rankings for the Lincoln Journal Star and from #3 to #4 in the Omaha World Herald.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

Wayne High will be searching for their first win against Pierce since 1994.
Elkhorn Valley Bank will be hosting a tailgate Friday night before the home football game. All proceeds will benefit both Wayne and Pierce booster clubs. This freewill donation event will last from 5:30 p.m. until kickoff.
