WAYNE – Before starting their regular season in less than a week, the Wayne High girls and boys basketball teams will visit a northeast Nebraska opponent in early December.
The Wayne High Blue Devils will take part in the 2019 Nebraska High School Sports Hall of Fame Jamboree on Monday, December 2. WHS will visit the Norfolk Senior High Panthers.
The girls contest will open the evening at 5:45 p.m. with the boys game to follow around 7:15 p.m. from Norfolk High School (801 Riverside Blvd).
No passes will be accepted as adult tickets are $5 while students (1st – 12th grade) are $4 as proceeds will benefit the Nebraska High School Sports Hall of Fame. Fans may enter doors 16 and 13.
Last season, the Wayne girls finished 6-14 while the boys went 12-13. For Norfolk High, their girls ended last year at 5-18 while the boys went 12-12.
Both the Wayne High girls and boys will begin their 2019-20 regular season schedule on Friday and Saturday, December 6 – 7. WHS first opens at home with Battle Creek at 6:15/7:45 p.m. followed by a road contest at Ponca on Saturday, December 7 at 5:15/7 p.m.
