Blue Devils Secure Wrestling Dual Victory, Seven Matches Won By Forfeit

NORFOLK – As another weekend invite approaches, the Wayne High wrestling team took to the road for dual competition.

From Norfolk Catholic high school, WHS competed against the Knights Thursday evening.

The Blue Devil wrestling team improved to 3-0 in dual competition thanks to a 48-33 win against Norfolk Catholic.

The lone victory for Wayne came from Reid Korth (182) by fall over Ben Morland (0:48).

Other wins came from Wyatt Heikes (106); Zachary McManigal (113); Ashton Munsell (120); Reece Jaqua (126); Lance Muhs (138); Cade Janke (195) and Logan Schafer (285) all by forfeit.

Norfolk Catholic wins went to Kanyon Talton (138) over Eli Barner by fall (4:02); Allan Olander (145) by forfeit; Wyatt Smydra (152) over James Dorcey by fall (2:19); Noah Wattier (160) over Aiden Liston by decision (9-3); Francisco Mendez (170) over Matus Snopek by fall (0:41) and Issac Wilcox (220) over Martin Carrillo by fall (4:11).

Wayne High will next compete in the West Point-Beemer wrestling invite on Saturday, December 14 starting at 9 a.m. Joining the Blue Devils and Cadets will be Bancroft Rosalie/ Lyons-Decatur; Cedar Bluffs; Clarkson-Leigh; Elkhorn; Oakland Craig; Schuyler; Scribner-Snyder; Stanton; Winside and Wisner-Pilger.
