Blue Devil Wrestlers Gear Up For Tuesday Triangular

PLAINVIEW – The Wayne High wrestling team will take their 8-1 dual record into a road triangular this week.

Wayne will join Boone Central starting at 6 p.m. Tuesday night for the Plainview triangular.

The Blue Devils were last in action during the Green Machine Invite hosted by Wisner-Pilger on December 21 and placed runner-up with 145.5 points, 20 points away from the champion (Schuyler). WHS last hosted a dual on December 19 defeating Creighton 66-18.

Wayne High will also compete in the Malcolm Invite this Saturday, January 11 starting at 9 a.m. Teams joining Wayne and Malcolm include Millard South, Fremont, Lincoln North Star, Lincoln Pius X, York, Concordia Jr/Sr, Yutan, Cross County, McCool Junction Junior-Senior, Lincoln Lutheran, Freeman, Palmyra, Parkview Christian, Southern and Dorchester.

The Norfolk Catholic wrestling will also be hosting Logan View Tuesday at 7 p.m. while Quad County Northeast will join Guardian Angels Central Catholic during the St. Mary’s of O’Neill triangular on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

Other area teams in action this weekend will be Wakefield-Allen competing in the Wisner-Pilger Tourney on Saturday, January 11 at 10:15 a.m. and Winside hosting their own tournament Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
