WAYNE – After securing a home triangular earlier this week, the Wayne High volleyball team welcomed in yet another opponent Thursday evening.
After the Stanton C-team won and Wayne JV squad topped the Mustangs, it was off to the varsity showdown for Stanton visiting the Wayne Jr/Sr high school gymnasium.
Wayne High took care of business in straight sets (25-16, 25-13, 25-20) to improve to 20-4 on the season.
Lauren Pick recorded 19 kills, eight digs and four solo blocks for Wayne. Emily Armstrong tallied nine kills and 12 digs while Frankie Klausen had seven kills and six digs. Mikaela McManigal, Sydney Redden (six digs) and Rubie Klausen (three digs) all added two kills. Hailey Backer paced the team in digs with 14 and one kill as Kiara Krusemark finished with 39 set assists and seven digs.
Wayne High will next compete in the Boone Central/Newman Grove triangular with Pierce on Tuesday, October 8.
