PIERCE – With three triangulars in the books for Wayne High, the Blue Devil volleyball team closed out their best-of-three set regular season match-ups Tuesday evening.
From Pierce Public Schools, the Bluejays welcomed in both Wayne High and Boone Central during a triangular.
WHS swept both Boone Central/Newman Grove (25-12, 25-12) and the host, Pierce (25-21, 25-17) to improve to 18-7 on the season. The Blue Devils swept each of their triangular opponents going 8-0 in matches (16-0 in sets played) and have now won 10 straight.
During the win against Boone Central, Lauren Pick posted 11 kills and seven digs while Emily Longe tallied five kills. Sydney Redden came away with 15 digs and three service aces. Reagan Backer finished with eight digs; Rubie Klausen recorded four kills; Kiara Krusemark had 14 set assists, eight digs and four kills as Mady Sievers also had a service ace.
From the victory over Pierce, Lauren Pick recorded 12 kills and nine digs followed by Emily Longe with six kills. Sydney Redden paced the team in digs with 23 while Rubie Klausen had 11 digs and three kills. Kiara Krusemark finished with 22 set assists and two kills; Mady Sievers also had three kills; service aces came from Pick and Klausen as Reagan Backer also had nine digs.
JV triangular match results saw Wayne High defeat the Cardinals (25-23, 19-25, 27-25) but fall to Pierce (26-24, 22-25, 23-25).
The Wayne High volleyball team will next host Crofton on Thursday, October 8.
