Blue Devil Volleyball Remains Undefeated At Home

WAYNE – With only a home triangular and two single matches remaining on the Wayne High home volleyball schedule, the Blue Devils played just their second match in front of the home crowd.

From the Wayne Jr/Sr high school gymnasium Tuesday night, WHS entertained Norfolk Catholic.

Wayne High picked up a four-set win over the Knights (25-22, 25-23, 20-25, 25-20) to now sit 13-3 on the season. Norfolk Catholic fell to 8-3.

Lauren Pick dominated the net for Wayne High recording a double-double with 25 kills and 21 digs. Mikaela McManigal followed with eight kills as Emily Armstrong finished with seven kills and 32 digs. Kiara Krusemark posted a double-double with 33 set assists and 10 digs to go along with one kill; Hailey Backer led the dig department with 36 and four service aces while Sydney Redden tallied 18 digs and one kill. Rubie Klausen had three kills as single kills came from Emily Longe and Frankie Klausen (11 digs).

Later this week, Wayne will travel to Hartington to face Cedar Catholic and O’Neill during their first of three triangular matches on Thursday, September 26. WHS will also compete in the Wisner-Pilger Invite this Saturday.
