Blue Devil Volleyball Finishes Tough Third Set For Home Sweep

WAYNE – With a late September, early October schedule featuring four home matches, the Wayne High volleyball team closed out the month Thursday evening.

From the Wayne Jr/Sr High School gymnasium, the Blue Devils welcomed in Stanton.

A back-and-forth match favored Wayne High in straight sets (25-18, 25-21, 26-24). The Blue Devils are now 12-8 on the season while the Mustangs fell to 8-14.

Double-double performers came from Rubie Klausen with 12 kills and 14 digs while Kiara Krusemark finished with 23 set assists and 14 digs to go along with five kills. Sydney Redden posted a team-high 18 digs and three kills; Reagan Backer also had 14 digs; Kate Hill added nine kills and 10 digs; Mady Sievers tallied seven kills and six digs; Anna Kaup had a kill and a dig as Faith Powicki tallied a dig.

Service aces came from Redden, Krusemark and Klausen all with an ace. Hill and Krusemark both had a block.

Wayne High will next host Pierce and Boone Central on Tuesday, October 5 during a home triangular.
