Blue Devil Volleyball Begins Postseason Play Tonight, Match Carried on KTCH

WAYNE – Postseason volleyball gets underway tonight for teams across the state in the opening round of subdistrict competition.

From Wayne Community Schools, WHS will host the C1-6 Subdistrict on Monday, October 26 and Tuesday, October 27.

The Blue Devils saw their 14-match winning streak come to an end last week when Norfolk Catholic won in four sets over WHS in the Mid State Conference championship match. Wayne High ended their season at 22-8.

#4 Homer (11-15) will open against #5 Winnebago (5-11) at 4:30 p.m. with the winner to face Wayne around 7:30 p.m. Homer is 3-0 against Winnebago as the Knights won in three sets during a home triangular on October 6, swept the Indians on October 17 during the LCC Tournament and again in three sets during the Wakefield Tournament on October 22.

#2 Battle Creek (19-9) will face #3 Pierce (13-13) at 6 p.m. in the middle match. The C1-6 Subdistrict championship match is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday with districts being played on Saturday, October 31.
