Blue Devil Softball Falls Behind Early At GACC

WEST POINT – With the Mid State Conference Tournament set for Saturday in O’Neill, the Wayne High softball team concluded their regular season on the road.

From Timmerman Field in West Point, the Blue Devils visited a fellow Class C opponent being Guardian Angels Central Catholic on Thursday.

GACC scored six runs in the opening inning and three more in the fourth to win 9-1 in five innings over Wayne High. The Bluejays improved to 15-9 while WHS fell to 12-7.

Liberty Titiml singled, doubled and scored while Taytem Ellis singled twice and drove in a run.

Mackenzie Nissen (89) suffered the loss in four innings allowing nine runs (two earned) off six hits while striking out one batter and walking five.

The Mid State Conference softball tourney will be in O’Neill on Saturday, October 1. #2 Wayne High will open with the host #3 O’Neill at 9 a.m.
