Blue Devil Results From West Point-Beemer Wrestling Dual Invite

WEST POINT – The Wayne High wrestlers took on five other teams during a dual invite Saturday.

From West Point-Beemer, WHS took on teams of Tekamah-Herman, Fort Calhoun, Mount Michael Benedictine, Randolph and the host. 

Wayne High opened the morning by defeating Fort Calhoun (36-12) before falling to Bellevue West (54-19), Mount Michael Benedictine (54-17) and West Point-Beemer (66-9) as WHS then closed out their fifth dual with a 30-18 win over Randolph.

Top wrestlers were Reece Jaqua (126) who posted a 4-0 record while winning one match by forfeit, Mike Leatherdale (285) went 3-0 while adding two forfeit wins as Cameron Muhs (132) added a 2-1 day with two wins by forfeit.

The lone match win in their opening dual came from Reece Jaqua (126) defeated Cameron Shaner (Fort Calhoun) by fall (:49).

From the loss the Bellevue West, match wins for Wayne went to Jaqua (126) won by fall (:58) over Mason Curtis, Cameron Muhs (132) won by major decision (14-0) over Hunter Blamble, James Dorcey (138) won by decision (10-5) over Bennet Crane and Mike Leatherdale (285) won by fall (1:10) over Sebastian Velasco.

In the loss to Mount Michael, Leatherdale won by fall (1:02) over Ian Miller, Jaqua (126) won by tech-fall (16-1) over Lincoln Badley and Cameron Muhs (132) won by fall (1:17) over Thomas Ramaekers.

During the loss to the host, West Point-Beemer Leatherdale (285) won by major decision (12-2) over Joe Rodriguez as Jaqua (126) won by tech-fall (15-0) over Dylan Miller.

In the final dual, Wayne posted a win over Randolph from Harley Wheeler (170) by fall (:34) against Calby Wathor. 

 

The Wayne High grapplers are next in action on Thursday, December 13 at Creighton for a dual.
