PLAINVIEW – More history was made at Wayne Community Schools as the second straight day, the Wayne High varsity bowling team was in action.

From D&K Lanes in Plainview, the Blue Devil bowlers took part in a road dual against the Pirates as the Wayne varsity girls team joined the boys.

In the girls varsity dual, Wayne topped Plainview and were led by Natalie Bentjen, Riley Haschke, Brianna Nissen, Jersi Jensen and Jamie Janke. Wayne won game one 7-1 but lost game two 6-2. WHS then went 2-0 to earn the five points in Baker style bowling. The Lady Blue Devils ended up winning the match 14 to 7.

The Wayne High boys team lost to Plainview Friday night.  The team of Tanner Sievers, Peyton Reisberg, Shayne Geidner, Calvin Starzl, Brogan Foote, James Dorcey and Koby Nelson lost the first game 7-1, won the second game 6-2 and then went 1-2 in the Baker style format. Wayne did battle back to have a chance in the last frame to win the match but came up just short.  The final score was Plainview 14 — Wayne 7.

The Wayne High varsity bowling teams will return to Kings Lanes in Norfolk on Saturday, December 12 for the Boone Central Invite.
