Blue Devil Cross Country Varsity, JV, Junior High Results From Norfolk Catholic Invite

NORFOLK – With their lone home competition approaching, the Wayne High girls and boys cross country team took to the road for a Friday invitational.

From Skyview Lake in Norfolk, the Blue Devil girls finished third with 64 points as no team results were posted for the Wayne High boys.

The Blue Devil girls were led by sophomore Laura Hasemann in seventh out of 70 runners on the 5K course during a time of 21:12. Other Wayne girls results came from freshman Frantzdie Barner (14th – 21:52); senior Andi Belt (25th – 23:49); sophomore Erin Avery (41st – 25:58.58); freshman Maya Spahr (42nd – 25:58.91) and junior Maria Vergara (64th – 31:46).

The Wayne boys were led by freshman Jesus Zavala in 13th place during a time of 18:09.

Other Blue Devil boys results came from freshman Alex Frank (JV 7th – 21:10); sophomore Easton Blecke (JV 8th – 21:30); sophomore Braydn McCorkindale (JV 12th – 22:36); senior Liam Spieker (JV 15th – 22:56); junior Carter Hasemann (JV 16th – 23:04); senior Raul Palma (JV 28th – 24:14); junior Kaden Hopkins (JV 33rd – 24:52); freshman Parker Kesting (JV 34th – 24:53); senior Nathan Kufner (JV 36th – 24:58); senior Christopher Woerdemann (36th – 19:35); sophomore Calvin Starzl (39th – 19:33); sophomore Evan Allemann (JV 48th – 29:42); senior Treyton Blecke (55th – 20:49); Ethan McCraney (61st – 21:11) and freshman Mason Ley (65th – 21:17).

 

During the junior high portion of the race, the Wayne girls placed first with 17 points while the boys came in fourth with 72 points.

Eighth-grader Kyla Krusemark (second – 7:44); eighth-grader Jala Krusemark (fourth – 7:57);  seventh-grader Reagan McGuire (fifth – 7:58); seventh-grader Haley Kramer (seventh – 8:08); eighth-grader Amelia Legler (ninth – 8:15); eighth-grader Olivia Hanson (10th – 8:16);  seventh-grader Lilyan Hurner (11th – 8:17); eighth-grader Norah Armstrong (22nd – 8:50); eighth-grader Yama Kantai (23rd – 9:02); seventh-grader Kennasyn Blecke (25th – 9:08); seventh-grader Josie Ley (37th – 9:29); seventh-grader Megan Magnuson (52th – 9:58); seventh-grader Kayleigh Graybeal (63rd – 10:52) and seventh-grader Sophia Spieker (65th – 11:46).

Junior High boys leaders:

Eighth-grader Gavin Redden won the race in a time of 6:40; followed by seventh-grader Drew Miller (sixth – 7:08); eighth-grader Andrew Brink (44th – 9:10); seventh-grader Boden Dobbins (50th – 9:32); seventh-grader Carlyle Young (58th – 10:38); seventh-grader Lucas Allemann (59th – 10:42) and eighth-grader Dean Young (67th – 12:45).

The Wayne High girls and boys cross country team will next compete in the Wayne Invite on Monday, September 14 starting at 4:30 p.m. from the Wayne Country Club.
