OAKLAND – A handful of area boys basketball teams will look to punch their ticket to the District finals Thursday night.
In the Class C1-6 subdistrict from Oakland-Craig High School, #1 Wayne won their 10th straight after eliminating #4 West Point-Beemer (59-52) Tuesday improving to 19-6.
WHS will next face #2 Logan View/Scribner-Snyder (17-8) Thursday night at 7 p.m. with the winner advancing to the district finals. NSAA C1 – D2 district final games can be played either Saturday, February 29; Monday, March 2 or Tuesday, March 3.
Earlier this season, the Raiders edged Wayne 41-38 on December 10, 2019.

Another northeast Nebraska team looking to win to advance to the district final is #2 Ponca who takes on #1 Bancroft-Rosalie/Lyons-Decatur at 7 p.m. Thursday night. Pender is hosting the C2-4 subdistrict.
